Appointments:

THE REVD BARRY SMITH has been appointed Chaplain to the Mother’s Union.  He is to be licensed on a date to be arranged.

THE REVD JOHN DRAPER has been appointed Area Dean of Gosport.  He will be commissioned on a date to be announced.

THE REVD ANDY DAVIS has been appointed Associate Area Dean of Gosport.  He will be commissioned on a date to be announced.

THE REVD JONATHAN JEFFERY has been appointed Area Dean of Havant.  He will be commissioned on a date to be announced.

THE REVD JANICE O’SHAUGHNESSY currently Priest in Charge of Arreton, Newchurch and Gatcombe, has been appointed as Incumbent of Arreton and Newchurch.  Her institution by the Archdeacon of the Isle of Wight will take place on a date to be confirmed.

Resignations

THE REVD RONNIE WILLIAMS currently Assistant Curate at Cowplain, (Diocese of Portsmouth) is to be appointed as Vicar of St Paul’s parish, Rustall, near Tunbridge Wells.  The licensing will take place on Tuesday 29th September at 7.30pm (Diocese of Rochester).

Retirements

THE REVD BARRY SMITH is to retire from his position as Assistant Curate at Blendworth with Chalton and Idsworth with effect from November 2009.

Deaths

THE REVD CANON PETER RUFFLE

There will be a Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Peter Ruffle (who died on 17th September) at 2pm on Friday 16th October at St Faith’s Church Lee-on-the-Solent. 

Much of Peter’s retirement ministry was spent at St Faith’s but all who knew him from the various stages and aspects of his ministry are very welcome.
