Announcements September 2009

Appointments:

THE REVD CHRIS WILLIAMS currently Assistant Curate in the Parish of Godalming, (Diocese of Guildford) is to be instituted as Rector of St. Mary’s in the Parish of Liss.  His institution will take place on 30th September 2009. 

THE REVD PHILLIP AMEY currently Assistant Curate at Holy Spirit, Southsea, (Diocese of Portsmouth) is to be licensed as Priest in Charge of St. John the Baptist, Purbrook (Diocese of Portsmouth) on the 21st September 2009 at 7.30pm.

THE REVD ANDREW MARSHALL currently senior Chaplain at Solent University, has been appointed Chaplain to Portsmouth University. 

THE REVD NIGEL JOHN BENNETT formerly Chaplain at Reading Blue Coat School, Sonning, has been appointed as House for Duty at St. Jude, Southsea, (Diocese of Portsmouth) w.e.f. October 1st 2009. 

THE REVD STUART HOLT was licensed as Priest-in-Charge of Droxford and Meonstoke with Corhampton and Exton (Diocese of Portsmouth) and commissioned as Area Dean of Bishop’s Waltham on 8th July 2009. 

THE REVD SIMON RUNDELL is to be instituted as Vicar to the Benefice of Elson, St. Thomas the Apostle on 16th September 2009 (Diocese of Portsmouth). 

THE REVD ELIZABETH GROVES is to be ordained to the priesthood on Thursday 3rd September. The ordination will take place in the Bishop’s chapel at Bishopsgrove.

Honorary Canon Emeritus   

THE REVD CANON JOHN PINDER is to be Honorary Canon Emeritus of Portsmouth Cathedral.   

THE REVD CANON NICHOLAS ASH is to be Honorary Canon Emeritus of Portsmouth Cathedral.  

THE REVD CANON DR STEPHEN PALMER is to be Honorary Canon Emeritus of Portsmouth Cathedral.  

THE REVD CANON BRUCE CARPENTER is to be Honorary Canon Emeritus of Portsmouth Cathedral.  

Resignations

THE REVD FRANK WRIGHT is to resign as Team Rector of the Parish of Holy Trinity with St. Columba, Fareham w.e.f. 20th September 2009.  He is to become the Rector of St. John the Baptist, Westbourne and will be collated and inducted on Monday 21st September. 

THE REVD IAN HILL Curate St John the Evangelist, Fareham has been appointed Priest in Charge of the benefice of Aspenden, Buntingford and Westmill (dio St Albans) and will be licensed on  3rd September 2009. 

THE REVD BARBARA MOSSE has resigned from her post as Assistant Spirituality Advisor for the diocese w.e.f. the end of May 2009.

THE REVD RONNIE WILLIAMS has resigned from his position as Assistant Curate, Cowplain (Diocese of Portsmouth). He is to be instituted as Vicar of St. Paul’s, Rusthall, near Tonbridge Wells, (Diocese of Rochester).  Date to be confirmed.

THE REVD SIMON LEWIS, formerly Assistant Curate at Ventnor Holy Trinity, St. Catherine and Bonchurch, (diocese of Portsmouth) is now Priest in Charge in the benefice of Brent Knoll, East Brent and Lympsham (Diocese of Bath and Wells). He was licensed on 13th July.

Deaths:

THE REVD GORDON CLIFFORD TAYLOR formerly Chaplain RNR passed away on the 27th June 2009. 

THE REVD CANON DEREK BROWN  formerly Rector of St Faith’s, Havant, passed away on 22nd July 2009.
