A JUBILEE HYMN

With thankful hearts and gladness
We rise to bless the Lord!
A jubilee proclaiming -
A people’s thanks outpoured!
Our Queen has ruled this nation,
And served her subjects well;
For fifty years of service
Let hymns of gladness swell.
For all her solemn duties
And all affairs of state;
For all her counsel offered,
We praise and celebrate!
May God the King of heaven
Bestow upon our Queen -
Continued grace and favour,
And blessings yet unseen.
O Lord may we, your people,
Hold fast to truths of old.
Through prayer and supplication,
May faith be real and bold.
So when our days are over
And others heed the call -
May Kingdom work continue
‘Til Christ is Lord of all.
