Cathedral review group

You are invited to share the views of your PCC and congregation on the relationship between the parishes of the diocese and our cathedral.

As you may have read in the lead article of May’s Pompey Chimes, the Bishop’s Council and the Cathedral Chapter have set up a working group to make recommendations. The group are keen to know what your church thinks before reaching their conclusions. They have also requested submissions from the bishop, the dean and the diocesan secretary.

The questions we would like you to consider are:

1. How might communications between the cathedral and parishes be improved?

2. How might the cathedral better support your parish in its ministry and mission?

3. In your opinion, what work of the cathedral should be funded wholly or partly by the parishes of the diocese through parish share?

Please send any comments your parish wishes to make to make to your RURAL DEAN by 22 August 2008. Rural deans will then bring your views to discuss with the review group in September.
