Discipleship & Training
The Mission & Discipleship section of our diocesan team brings together those who offer training in a wide variety of areas (see below).

What do the Mission & Discipleship team do?
- Advice and support on youth and children's work
- Professional development for clergy and training for both clergy and lay people in our parishes. More details about training can be found in the Mission & Discipleship Lay & Clergy Training & Formation Brochure (Jan - July 2010).
- Advice and support for those thinking about Christian vocations (as ordained ministers or otherwise)
- Advice and support on promoting Christian stewardship in parishes
- The work of our Readers
- Advice and support on liturgy and worship in churches
- Advice and support for music in parishes
- Advice and support for the ministry of healing around the diocese
- Advice and support on Spirituality, including Spirituality training (Diocesan Cathedral Spirituality Days) and the (Foundation course in Christian Spirituality and Spiritual Direction) and prayer corner resources.
- Adult education training courses (e.g. Churchwarden & PCC training and the Bishop's Foundation course).
- Details on lectures/events for the Cathedral Education Group.
- Books and resources.
The Mission & Discipleship Team
The team is led by Canon David Isaac, who is supported by Kay Lancaster, the administrative secretary for the section (see below). Some of the section staff, including David and Kay, are based at our diocesan offices at Peninsular House. Others are based elsewhere.

Head of Mission and Discipleship
Canon David Isaac: Leads the work of the Mission and Discipleship team, advises the Bishop's Council on strategic development and provides consultancy and training for parishes on lay discipleship development. David is also the Acting Warden of Readers.

Team Administrative Secretary
Kay Lancaster: Supports the Mission and Discipleship team’s work by providing administrative services at the diocesan offices. Also PA to the Head of Mission & Discipleship, Canon David Isaac.
