Resources

for hosting people from Ukraine

Free tennis club membership

We were delighted to hear from the Southsea Tennis Club that they wish to offer a year’s free membership to any of our Ukrainian guests who would like that. Please contact them direct.

Click here for general info about the club.

Language Training

LSI Language School in Portsmouth are offering free full-time English language tuition. This is a wonderful offer, that will both assist our Ukrainian guests in learning English and also help them to settle into their new homes.

Duolingo

Duolingo, a free language learning app that you are probably familiar with, has English/Russian and English/Ukrainian courses (in both directions). Please be aware that most of “our” Ukrainians come from the Russian-speaking part of Ukraine. They are also providing free English tests to Ukrainians that will qualify them to access University education in this country. See their informative statement here.
