Children & Youth Worker, Liss

Children and Youth Worker (Focus on ages 7 - 13)
St Mary’s Church is seeking an experienced Children’s Worker to build on and develop our work with children, young people and their carers both within our church family and in our wider community. The role will be focused on those in KS2 and 3. We are committed to funding this role for a period of two years.
The post is set at 50% (20 hours) and would be spread across at least 3 days in each week. There is the possibility that this post could be combined with a wider deanery role creating a full time post for the right candidate. There must be a willingness for some of this time to be worked in the evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate will report to the Priest in Charge (Line Manager) or Church Wardens in their absence and will be part of the wider Staff Team. This post has been identified as being one to which a Genuine Occupational Requirement (as set out in Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010) applies and the post holder is required to be a practicing Christian.
St Mary’s Liss is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All post holders and volunteers are expected to share this commitment and be prepared to undergo safeguarding training and an enhanced DBS check if necessary.
