    Contemporary Worship Leader

    You are PASSIONATE about inspiring people to worship God through music, a COMMITTED Christian, and have been gifted with AMAZING worship skills! For us this is an exciting role that gives the successful candidate an opportunity to influence and be part of our new chapter!

    Maybe you are working in a church already and need a new challenge? Or maybe you are leading music in another context and want to use your gifts for the Lord? Or maybe you have just finished your musical qualifications and looking for where God wants you?

    We are an active C of E Anglican church, at the heart of our community, looking to invest in and modernise our ‘Sunday Central’ contemporary service at 10:30am. Do you have the ideas, the energy, the perseverance, and the excitement to help us in this ministry and mission? We need you to be part of this ambition for God. Your role would be to lead sung worship on Sundays at our contemporary service and to help build and grow our contemporary worship group.

    For you to be right for the role, you have, we need you to have:

    • Clear evidence of musical training
    • Experience of and fruitful involvement with leading worship
    • Technical skill with at least one musical instrument commonly used to lead in contemporary, band-led worship (e.g., voice and keyboard and/or guitar)
    • Skill in singing and voice to lead well in worship services
    • Confidence in leading the congregation between song, music, and spiritual prayer, depending on where the worship leads us
    • The ability to nurture and mentor others in the band

    This role is on a self-employed basis at an appropriate hourly rate depending on experience and qualifications.

    The post has a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the holder to be a committed Christian in agreement with the basis of the Church of England and worldwide Anglican Communion e.g., Book of Common Prayer, 39 Articles, Ordinal and CEEC statement of faith. The post is subject to EDBS checks and keeping up to date with training.
