We’re spending seven days walking around and through all seven deaneries within our diocese as we mark the 10th anniversary of Thy Kingdom Come. This is the global, ecumenical call for prayer, which inspires us to pray for our family and friends to become disciples of Jesus. The Rev Andrew Hargreaves, our interim director of Ministry and Discipleship, is leading these seven days of prayer and pilgrimage from June 2-8.

Gosport

Day 6 of our Thy Kingdom Come pilgrimages brings us to Gosport deanery. Pilgrims will begin their walk at Holy Trinity Church at 10am.

The pilgrimage will end with a Thy Kingdom Come Prayer Celebration at Haven Church (Christ Church, Stoke Road) at 7pm. Walkers and non-walkers are welcome to this. Worship will be led by the Haven Church team.

Programme for the Pilgrimage:

You can join the walk at:

  • 10am: Holy Trinity Gosport
  • 12noon: St Mary’s Rowner
  • 1.45pm: St Faith’s, Lee-on-the-Solent
  • 4pm: St Mary’s Alverstoke

The route is approximately 16 miles, and takes in all Church of England church buildings, plus all three secondary schools, one primary school, HMS Sultan, and Gosport War Memorial Hospital. We’ll be stopping every hour, wherever we are, to pray together.
