Are you passionate about supporting young people as they explore life’s big questions and discover purpose, community, and hope? Do you thrive in creative, relational spaces and enjoy starting new things that make a difference? We’re looking for a committed and compassionate Pioneer Youth Worker to help shape an exciting new role in Leigh Park. We’re looking for someone with a heart for young people, a collaborative spirit, and the confidence to pioneer new approaches. You should be comfortable working within a school setting and eager to explore creative ways to build community beyond the classroom.
This role is part of the Diocese of Portsmouth’s Vision and Strategy for the next five years, which includes plans to create new church plants and worshipping communities across our diocese. You can read more about the plans for this project here.
What we offer:
This is a fantastic opportunity to pioneer something meaningful – by placing young people at the very heart of the Leigh Park community. A vibrant Christian faith is required.
The Diocese of Portsmouth is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce that represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of United Kingdom Minority Ethnic/Global Majority Heritage, women and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation. The appointment will of course be based on merit alone. Enhanced DBS will be required.
