History talk and guided tour

The first of this year’s scheduled history talks and guided tours of St Hubert’s will be on this Saturday, 17th May, commencing at 2:30 pm.
There are no pre-booking arrangements – just turn up! The event is free of charge but donations at the discretion of attendees will be most welcome.
The talk and tour, which will last about an hour, will be an opportunity to hear from John Bannell (Churchwarden and Buildings Officer) about the rich history of the “little church in the field” with its important medieval wall paintings and how it is being maintained.
Looking forward to the event, John said:
“St Hubert’s is a real historical gem. There is something here to refer to from every century of the last 1,000 years.
“Furthermore, the church sits in a beautiful South Downs location with a public footpath passing the front door. With the weather forecast to be good, some people might like to combine this event with a walk in the countryside - that would be a lovely way to start the weekend.”
The other two scheduled talks and tours at St Hubert’s this year will be on Thursday 19th June and Saturday 12th July, both at 2:30 pm.
