Living Faith: Module 1, Spritiuality and Prayer

Studying, and briefly experiencing, different traditions of spirituality can help us see that how we are drawn to relate to God may be strongly determined by our personality type, or by the traditions of the local church with which we are familiar. The aim of this module is to broaden your horizons and encourage you not only to have a spiritual life and relate to God, but to reflect on it, so as to draw closer to God and deepen your experience and understanding of him in prayer.
By the end of this module you should be able:
- to understand from experience the rich spiritual traditions of Christianity
- to use the varying traditions meaningfully
- to reflect on your own spiritual life and understand your experience of God in prayer
- to see the relationship between spirituality and its cultural context.
