Talk: God and Creation
St Peter & St Paul, Hambledon host a discussion on God and Creation where the Very Reverend David Fergusson, Regius Professor of Divinity at the University of Cambridge, will give a talk followed by a Q&A session.
The theme of creation has often been understated in the seasons of the Christian year, the creeds, and the liturgy. This talk explores the reasons for this and proposes ways in which our churches can learn to value the created world for its own sake and not merely for its human benefits.
- Saturday 17th January
- 4pm
- St Peter & St Paul, Hambledon
Professor Fergusson will also join the church service at St Peter & St Paul’s on Sunday 18th January.
About the speaker
Professor Fergusson has had a long academic career, as well as serving as a parish minister early in his career. He was recently described as “the most distinguished theologian in Britain” and his talk is sure to be thought-provoking. In 2019 the Queen appointed him as Dean of the Chapel Royal in Scotland and Dean of the Order of the Thistle; both of which he still holds.
