Bishop’s Study Day: Creation Care – Safeguarding the Integrity of Creation
A study day for licensed clergy and Readers, to gather and learn

Theme: Creation Care – Safeguarding the integrity of Creation
Our day together is centred around the 5th mark of mission and is entitled Creation Care – Safeguarding the integrity of Creation, and it is our pleasure to introduce a host of expert contributors to the day, including:
- Dr Ruth Valerio, Environmentalist, theologian, social activist and author
- Andy Atkins, CEO of A Rocha UK
- Steve Collins, National Decarbonisation Lead for the C of E
- Duncan Dormor, General Secretary of USPG
- Plus parish-based practitioners Rev Jules Middleton and Rev Hannah Mayo
We hope you can join us for this enriching day of study and fellowship as we journey in our vision to be Jesus-centred, Kingdom-seeking disciples with an interest and concern for all God is calling us to across local and world mission today.
The full programme is expected to look like this:
- 9:30am: Gathering and Refreshments
- 10am: Dr Ruth Valerio: "God’s Heart for Church Leaders on our role in Stewardship of Creation – A Theological reflection and discussion
- 11am: Break
- 11:15am: Andy Atkins: "A Biblical response to the current ‘backlash’ against net zero carbon - Reflections and discussion
- 12:15pm: Eucharist – with homily from Duncan Dormor of USPG
- 1pm: Lunch
- 1:45pm: Interviews with clergy and Q&A hosted by Steve Collins.
