    The Church of the Good Shepherd, Crookhorn, is a thriving and friendly charismatic Anglican church passionate about serving its community. They are serious about our commitment to young people and offer well-established youth and children’s ministries with the scope to grow.

    They are wanting to build positive relationships with children, young people and families that bring about development of faith and transformation of character.

    • Hours: 15 hours per role, or 30 hours combined; working hours will include Sunday mornings and some evening activities, with flexibility across the week.
    • Salary: £20,280 pro rata for 30 hours or £10,140 pro rate for 15 hours (£25,350 full-time equivalent); plus agreed ministry expenses.
    • Closing date: 5pm, June 30th 2026.
    • Starting: Subject to negotiation.

    Role

    This post may be appointed as:

    • Children & Families Co-ordinator – 15 hours per week, focusing on ministry with younger children and their families, or
    • Youth Co-ordinator – 15 hours per week, focusing on ministry with young people, or
    • A combined Children, Youth & Families Co-ordinator role – 30 hours per week.

    Responsibilities will include supporting existing ministries, and developing new ministries, encouraging participation, and helping young people and families explore and grow in Christian faith.

    About you

    We are looking for people who:

    • are enthusiastic about working with children, young people and families;
    • have a heart to see young people grow in faith and confidence;
    • can work collaboratively with volunteers and church leaders;
    • are eager to develop their own skills and experience in ministry.

    If you are passionate about investing in the lives of children and young people and helping them grow in faith, we would love to hear from you.

    Environment

    CoGs runs toddler groups, Kids and Youth groups and a community café all of which provide a vital and dynamic link with many people from the community. Our ministries place children and young people at the centre of Church life both midweek and on Sunday Mornings.

    If you are enthusiastic, dedicated, and have a genuine interest in empowering young people, and developing your own skills and experience, CoGS would love to hear from you. Contact the vicar, Janette Smith, for an informal discussion.
