Season of Creation
September 1st to October 4th
In the church calendar, the Season of Creation – sometimes called Creationtide – is the five weeks before Harvest, starting on September 1st. It is a period dedicated to God as Creator and Sustainer of all life. During this season churches may hold special services and events giving thanks for creation and encouraging a renewed focus on caring for creation and living more sustainably.

The Big Switch
What’s it all about?
The global climate emergency is a crisis for our world. That’s why the Church of England has an ambition to reduce our carbon emissions to net zero by 2030.
Together, we can act in faith, taking small but powerful steps to help restore God’s creation. By pledging to switch to a green tariff, we are contributing to a 78% decrease in the Church of England’s overall carbon emissions from churches – helping lead the way towards a cleaner, fairer future for all.
What can you do?
The green energy market can be tricky to navigate, so the CofE has done the research needed to help us confidently choose an ethical green supplier.
On the website, you can find helpful guidance on choosing green tariffs. Find out more at the link here.
