Carbon Literacy™ course
The Carbon Literacy™ course is accredited climate change learning that leads to impactful action towards reducing carbon emissions. The Carbon Literacy™ Project’s official definition of carbon literacy is: “An awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions on an individual, community and organisational basis.”
A carbon-literate citizen understands how climate change affects them, their community, and the wider world. Becoming carbon literate means gaining the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to reduce your own carbon footprint, and inspire and influence others to do the same.
This course is run by the NZC & Environment officers of Chichester and Portsmouth dioceses (certified Carbon Literacy™ Project trainers). The course runs for four weeks on Tuesday evenings, 7pm to 9pm, from June 30th to July 21st.
You will need to attend all four sessions, and there will be a small amount of ‘homework’ to do between some sessions (mainly watching a video or two).
The course is free. A completion certificate is available at the end (fee: £15); it is not a requirement to complete the course but it is encouraged as part of engaging with the training. The course content will be a mix of presentations, videos and discussions.
