BISHOP Jonathan has appointed the Rev Andre Radmall as associate priest for St Mary’s Church, Buriton, and St Peter’s Church, Petersfield.

Andre trained as a mental health nurse, psychotherapist, an actor and for ordination. He was ordained in 2008 in the Diocese of London and was part of a Fresh Expressions house church, and is now part of a business coaching network. He has written books on addiction and well-being, has acted on stage and in film, and has hosted podcasts.

He will become the House for Duty priest (subject to DBS), after most recently being licensed to St Paul’s Church in St Albans Diocese. Andre will be licensed on November 13 at 7pm, at St Mary’s, Buriton.

Andre started his career as a mental health nurse and later became a psychotherapist. He has had a private practice for over 25 years. He has worked in Harley Street, at the Priory Hospital and in the NHS.

In more recent years he has worked in a business coaching network with global businesses. He was ordained in 2008, served his curacy as a self-supporting minister at St Barnabas Church. He was then part of a leadership team for a Fresh Expressions house church for seven years. During this time, Andre also taught theology and counselling at the London School of Theology.

More recently he served as a part-time associate vicar at St Paul’s Church in St Albans. Andre helped the church navigate through a vacancy period and the restrictions of Covid.

Some years ago, he trained as an actor and has worked in stage and film. His media career has included hosting a podcast about change, appearing on BBC radio and TV and being a commentator for various press and magazines.

Andre has had a couple of books published on topics like addiction and creative approaches to well-being, including his most recent book Get Unstuck.

He said: “Creativity is central to my life. I’m interested in a range of intersecting areas including creativity, theology, leadership and psychological health. I’m passionate about supporting churches as welcoming, open and safe places where people can grow together and thrive in Christ.”

Andre is married to Zoe, a primary teacher and has three grown up children, Tamsyn and Juliet (who are twins) and Jonathan.
