The Diocese of Portsmouth has been successful in securing a number of large grants from the Church of England’s Strategic Mission and Ministry Investment Board to enable delivery of our Rejuvenate strategy. The Strategic Programme Team exists to oversee the delivery of our strategy, working with our diocesan teams and parishes to support them through advice, guidance and administrative processing.

The successful postholder will be a key part of this small team, ensuring our financial and administrative processes work effectively, and that information is gathered and disseminated efficiently. Using established project management frameworks, you will support parishes in starting and running projects so that people and financial managements systems are working well and the most important matters are escalated to senior colleagues.

There will be opportunities to grow in the role, learning from colleagues and other Dioceses, and undertake further training. You will be joining a positive working environment where we seek to grow the Kingdom through a wide variety of projects and practical action.

The Diocese of Portsmouth is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce that represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of United Kingdom Minority Ethnic/Global Majority Heritage, women and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation. The appointment will of course be based on merit alone. Enhanced DBS will be required.
