Welcome to St John's Church, Newport, Isle of Wight.
Following Church of England guidance there are no services or events being held in St John's Church or Community Hall at present. The church will be open for private prayer on weekday mornings as far as possible. Please follow the guidance from Public Health England on social distance and good hygiene practices.

St John's has an open evangelical tradition with worship that varies between traditional and modern styles. We strive to be obedient to the Holy Spirit and all Him to work within us in our worship and life together and in the local community.

The parish of Newport: St John the Baptist is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Portsmouth’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Sunday Act of Worship
Each week we produce a short Act of Worship for Sunday morning. This is videoed and you can find it on the Weekly Act of Worship page or receive it by email. The email will include the text of the service too.

St John's Sunday evening meeting
Each Sunday evening we are holding a zoom meeting when we find out how everyone is doing in lockdown and discuss the readings from the morning's service and what they mean to us.
