Creation Care Champions Network

Creation Care Champions Network

Creation Care Champions NetworkAcross our diocese, there are people in our churches who are already passionate about creation care – who are quietly planting wildflower patches in their churchyards, persuading their PCC to switch to a green energy tariff, or bringing environmental themes into Sunday worship. The Creation Care Champions Network is for them.

What is the network?

The Creation Care Champions Network connects people across the diocese who share a commitment to caring for God’s creation in their local church community. It is not a formal role or an additional responsibility – it is simply a way of recognising the passion that is already there, and connecting people with one another and with the support the diocese can offer.

Champions are people who:

  • care deeply about creation as a matter of faith, not just environmentalism
  • are already taking, or want to take, practical steps in their church community
  • are open to sharing what they are doing and learning from others across the diocese

What does being a champion involve?

Being part of the network is light-touch and flexible. There is no application form, no targets to hit, and no minimum commitment. Champions can expect:

  • connection with others who share their passion, through occasional online and in-person gatherings
  • early access to resources, events, and grant information from the diocesan creation care team
  • the opportunity to share their church’s story and inspire others across the diocese
  • support from David Cain and Matt Lockwood as they work through their local projects

How to get involved

If this sounds like you – or like someone in your congregation – we would love to hear from you. Simply register your interest below or get in touch with Matt Lockwood for a chat about what you are already doing and how the network might support you, and come along to the next network gathering.
