Sarisbury pupils welcome their new vicar

PUPILS from the local Cof E school in Sarisbury were on hand to welcome their new vicar.
Three members of the worship council at Sarisbury C of E Junior School officially welcomed the Rev Dave Crees as he was licensed by Bishop Jonathan as the new vicar of St Paul's Church.
Alice (from class 6LA), Darcie (4MP) and Sam (6CW) took part in the service and spoke clearly and confidently to the congregation and welcomed Dave on behalf of their school.
Following the service, the children helped to serve the refreshments and spoke to many of the congregation. Staff and pupils from Sarisbury Junior are looking forward to welcoming Dave into school and further developing the close relationship they have with the church.
Darcie said: “I felt really good about speaking in front of people and being really courageous. I had the chance to meet the new vicar and the Bishop of Portsmouth. I just really enjoyed it!”
Sam said: “I feel thankful that the school picked me to go to the church. I had the opportunity to meet Reverend Dave and I was excited to talk to him. I am looking forward to introducing Dave to the school.”
And Alice said: “I felt thankful and grateful that I had the opportunity to represent the school. It was a really nice service to be a part of.
