Find up to date details on our Whiteley Church facebook page.
Whiteley Church in the Conventional District of Whiteley is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Portsmouth’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
Sunday
-
Communion
A service which includes hymns, songs, prayers, a Bible reading, a talk and at which we share bread and wine in Communion. Children have the opportunity to go out to a group for some of the service. There is a group for teenagers on the second Sunday of the month.
-
Weekly Online Sunday Worship
During the current COVID-19 pandemic we are live-streaming our services on Sunday mornings at 1015 on our Facebook page.
-
Breakfast Church
An informal service which begins with a self-service croissants, freshly baked rolls and fruit breakfast. We sit round tables and explore the theme of the service through discussion questions and activities. Options are provided for those who prefer to reflect individually. The children go out to their group for some of the time. If you are able to bring an item to contribute to breakfast (eg jam, fruit, brioches, croissants) that would be very welcome but there is no obligation to do so - please feel free to come along and share what others have brought.
-
COMMUNION
Communion Services are usually held at 10.15am on the 2nd and 4th Sunday morning service. Childrens groups usually meet during the service.
-
Soulful Walking
A community event organised by Whiteley Church, Soulful Walking is an opportunity to re-connect with things which give us life and joy. With suggested ways to slow down and be present, you may be amazed at what comes to your attention! This is a time to listen to nature, to ourselves and, perhaps, to the 'other'.
