Sunday

  • Holy Communion

A reflective service of Holy Communion without music.
The service follows liturgy from Common Worship, which is provided in an order of service booklet. There is no music, but there is a sermon and space to reflect, pray and meet with Jesus.

Every Sunday at 8 a.m. for 40 minutes

    Common worship

  • Holy Communion

A structured service of Holy Communion with music.
We gather to sing and praise God, to hear his word, and to gather around his table at communion. Music (which is a mixture of traditional and more contemporary hymns and songs) is usually led by a choir accompanied by the organ or a piano. The words are usually projected on a screen. The service follows liturgy from Common Worship, which is provided in an order of service booklet or on the screen.
There are no children's groups at this service, but children are welcome. The service is relayed to the Grove Room (immediately behind the church) for families who need more space.
Refreshments are served after the service in the Grove Room or the hall, together with the 10.45am congregation.

Every Sunday at 9:15 a.m. for 60 minutes

Please check the St. John's website to confirm at times of festivals.

Common worship, Coffee, Creche, Sunday school

  • Informal Worship

A service with an emphasis on informality, creativity and encountering Jesus.
Doors open at 10.15am for refreshments. We usually begin with a time of singing as we praise God and become more aware of his presence with us. There is a talk about the bible, and time to reflect and respond to it. On the third Sunday of the month we also celebrate communion together.
Children are welcome at this service and there are usually children's groups. Children begin in the service until it's time for them to leave for their groups, and return for the end of the service. You are welcome to keep your children with you in the service if you prefer.
On the first Sunday of the month the service is suitable for all ages and there are no groups.
Refreshments are served before the service from 10.15am in the Grove Room or hall, together with the 9.15am congregation.

Every Sunday at 10:45 a.m. for 60 minutes
