The Church of The Ascension, Portsea, PO2 0JG
Built in 1913, The Parish Church of the Ascension is a warm and lively parish church in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, located in the residential area of North End in the City of Portsmouth.
Irrespective of whether you are strong in the faith, newly converted, exploring religion for the first time or just moved into the area, you can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome, please don't take our word for it, come and find out for yourself.
The Church of the Ascension holds regular normal services also providing the parish with christening's, weddings, banns read and funeral services.
Children are very welcome and we have a Sunday School, encouraging young families to attend.
It is possible to privately hire the church hall and large kitchen facilities for your own event or children’s parties.
We have regular social events, including quiz nights, craft fares etc. which are advertised through this page and Facebook. Everyone is welcome and we would love you to join in.

Normal Services are:
Sundays: Parish Mass - 09:45 (Holy Communion)
Wednesdays: Said Mass - 10:00 (1st Weds of the month)
Thursdays: Said Mass - 19:00 (Mass of Our Lady of Walsingham - 2nd Thursday of the month)

Wednesday: 16th Portsmouth Girl Guides Group 1930 - 2100

Families are very welcome and encouraged to attend, we also have a Sunday School for children during term time.
Join us afterwards for tea/coffee and biscuits, squash for the children and good company.
