Transformed church opens cafe and soft play area
St Margaret’s Church in Southsea has been celebrating a radical transformation that has seen it open a cafe and soft play area, alongside its existing community shop and Foodbank. Restructure of diocesan central staff announced
We have restructured our central staff team to continue to provide support to parishes and schools in future. This re-shaping has involved reviewing and changing job descriptions for most of the team, and sadly some redundancies too. The coronavirus pandemic has impacted diocesan finances, as has been the case for our parishes, and therefore we have had to review and reduce our expenditure. New space for workers created inside church
St Luke’s Church in Southsea has created a space inside its church building for lone workers and those who are self-employed to use as a base for their work. The Host Space is created every Monday morning and cleared away again on a Friday afternoon. Those who work there are encouraged to engage with spiritual activities and with those working alongside them. Read more
