New pioneer minister fulfils lifelong ambition

‘I only found out I was dyslexic when I started ordination training’
It was only when Rajiv Sidhu started training to be a vicar that he discovered he was dyslexic. He’d previously worked as a teacher for 10 years without any issues. Now he’s completed his ordination training and is preparing to be ordained as a deacon with six others at our cathedral. Read more

Diocesan staff member Lauren McDermott is preparing to skydive to raise money for a charity that is close to her heart. She's raising money for Endometriosis South Coast, which has helped her cope with a painful condition that was diagnosed a few years ago. Read more

Families gathered in the churchyard at St James Church, Emsworth, for the first ever meeting of 'Wild Church'. This is a way of connecting nature with spirituality in a family-friendly way. It's going to be happening each month from now on. Read more

Bishop Christopher has retired as Bishop of Portsmouth after more than a decade of faithful service. His farewell Choral Evensong service in our cathedral included some of the music that has been important to him over more than 40 years of ordained ministry, and the world premiere of a piece specially composed for the occasion. Bishop Christopher will retire as Bishop of Portsmouth after more than 10 years in the role. He will symbolically lay down his crozier on the altar of our cathedral before walking out of the west doors, at the end of a farewell service on April 24. From that moment, he will no longer be Bishop of Portsmouth. Past and present colleagues have paid tribute to his caring and thoughtful ministry. Read more
